Broadcast Operations is a group of over 700 people at Sky making sure that our customers' experience is the best possible, from the pictures they see and the sound they hear, to choosing what they watch. Within Broadcast Operations sits Programme Traffic who monitors and manages over 100 movies and series channels. This involves obtaining acceptable material for transmission (TX) and then preparing and assigning this material to the schedules, including adding access services to the programmes.

We are currently recruiting for a number of Media Co-Ordinators whose role is:

- To proactively manage long form and short form materials throughout Sky's Broadcast system, update and assign IDs to the different platform schedules and catalogues for TX/download. To monitor and manage IDs throughout the system and adhere to deadlines. To assist in the delivery and completion of these workflows. To oversee the ordering and delivery of materials from distributors and facility houses.

- To assist in the effective and efficient delivery of access services: subtitling, audio description and sign language that are required by broadcast legislation across all Sky channels. This is to be achieved through the effective use of the resources that comprise within Broadcast Operations. Effective planning must also be communicated with the 3rd parties who deliver access services to Sky to ensure the most cost effective and efficient ways of working.

- To act as the first point of contact for any Ardome Media Asset Management issues, to log the errors and pass them onto the appropriate support teams. The coordinator should know how all Sky production teams and VTR will access and work on the Media Asset Management. They will have a clear understanding of the end to end tapeless workflow.

- This position will work alongside all similar positions under the banner of Content Services, assisting in the transformation of Broadcast Operations into the industry's leading broadcast division. You must also liaise closely with the senior operators of content services to achieve the most effective and efficient workflow.

- The coordinator will have a comprehensive professional knowledge of a vast array of systems, equipment and procedures in their area of business. They will assist in setting a vision of how highly motivated staff can work together to deliver excellence, through the development of a challenging departmental strategy, focused on the requirements of our clients and the delivery of a 1st class service.

- The role provides a core line of communication for all clients, and therefore demands a high level of customer service and client focus, delivering against specific agreements pertaining to the acceptance, ingest, processing and timely delivery of content and its associated information and/or metadata.

- Be aware of and act in accordance with your Health & Safety responsibilities as defined in the Corporate Health & safety Policy. Be aware of the importance of good occupational health practices, and general wellbeing at work

The Candidate

- Desirable if the candidate has knowledge of Asset Management Systems and Scheduling tools.

- The candidate should be aware of working practices to achieve multi skilled functionality across all the department's roles, with a working knowledge of workflows and its facilities available, up to a level to be able to carry out operational responsibilities. This also includes an awareness of the requirements of legislation of the OfCom Communications Act of 2003. The coordinator should have a sound knowledge of Sky's access services processes including systems that are utilized.

- The candidate needs to be fully aware of customer requirements and have the ability to respond accurately to specific needs. The individual must demonstrate experience of customer care, a professional approach and a friendly manner, to a very high standard in a similar role.

- The candidate must be able to demonstrate clear and concise communication skills with colleagues and customers alike, in order to provide a high standard of relevant and timely information pertaining to the work carried out.

- The ability to assess, maintain and develop own performance and aid the team performance objectively, against agreed productivity and quality targets.

- Understands the core business of BSkyB and the roles that the Content Services department fulfils within the corporation as a whole, helping achieve its wider objectives.

- Deliver a basic appreciation of Support structures, reporting day to day frontline technical faults accurately through these, creating and maintaining effective relationships with the Support personnel and aiding others in doing the same.

The role is based on a shift pattern Monday - Sunday, 7 day fortnight that is subject to change and will also include night shifts
