Formula One Management Ltd operates within the dynamic and exciting world of motor racing and is responsible for the design and operation of many of the key technical systems used for the televising and administration of worldwide motor racing events.

We have an excellent opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our small and professional audio team as an Assistant Audio Engineer within our Television Systems Department.

FOM has one of the most advanced and extensive audio systems used in sports outside broadcasting today, delivering to the viewer the most dynamic and spectacular live sports audio imaginable, week after week, from around the globe. The audio team are responsible for the continued success and development of this system – a vital part of the TV broadcast. As such the audio team operates in a busy and vibrant environment.

Your main duties will include: assisting with the set up of the track-side rig; assisting with the commissioning and testing of the system in preparation for broadcast. You will eventually gain experience and understanding of large scale digital audio production consoles, digital routing systems and digital intercom systems as well as a very broad knowledge of audio engineering principles.

You will need at least 2 years’ experience working within live sound, outside broadcast or television studio environments to be considered for the role, with a BTEC HND or equivalent qualification in Electronic or Broadcast Engineering. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate a genuine interest in audio engineering and are keen to develop their skills.

Please be aware that this role will involve physical work during the rig and de-rig at events and will include a considerable amount of international travel. It will also involve the driving of utility vehicles around the circuits so a driving license is essential.
