We’re experiencing an exciting period of growth within our International TV Production business at NBCUniversal. To support this growth agenda, we’re currently expanding our dedicated in-house legal team. In this newly created Vice President role, you’ll be at the heart of that expansion, acting as a true business partner on all legal and business affairs issues for our non-scripted shows and our formats business.

About the role
Leading a dedicated team of two experienced directors and two executives, you’ll establish and maintain relationships with the Managing Directors and creative heads across a number of different labels. On a practical level, they’ll look to you for comprehensive legal and business support at every stage in the production and licensing process for non-scripted content. From negotiating agreements with broadcasters, financiers, licensees and talent, you will need to ensure that our format sales and production in different international markets is carried out in a way which maximizes our return and is compliant with local laws. As a senior member of the team, you’ll also have a big part to play in maximising the commercial potential of those productions. Which, as well as making sure we strike the best deals in the first place, means looking for new and innovative ways to boost our revenues even further.

About you
Whether you come to us from a similar in-house role or a firm dealing primarily with media industry clients, you’ll need at least eight years’ PQE and specific experience of working with non-scripted TV content. A deep understanding of the deal parameters and laws around international TV production and licensing is obviously essential. As are inspirational leadership skills, a flair for building relationships and a highly strategic approach. But every bit as important will be your ability to recognise new commercial opportunities and help us make the most of each and every one.
