Senior Event Manager

Reports to: Head of Events

Location: Osterley

Job Purpose

The Senior Event Manager will work in a team of Project Managers who's key role is to organise and produce events, and achieve high end event/production standards as required by Sky Creative for both internal and external facing events across all channels and departments within Sky.

The postholder will be expected to manage staff, budgets and resources to ensure that all events are produced efficiently and effectively with the highest attention to detail.

The Senior Event Manager will have an in-depth understanding of TV Production have significant experience of working within a team producing large and small scale events with varying budgets.

They will expected to manage a team and be able to motivate and inspire under pressure; as well as acting as a mentor to junior members of the team, providing productive and professional guidance as and when appropriate.

The Senior Event Manager will report into the Head of Events for Sky Creative, who will lead the off air and on air large campaign, projects and events.

Overview of Department

Sky Creative is a 300+ strong creative department based in Osterley, West London. The team delivers creative solutions to Sky's portfolio of channels & products and brands supporting TV, print and digital across multiple areas of the business as well as multiple platforms like Sky Anytime, Anytime+, Sky Go.

The Senior Creative will report into the Head of Design on the sponsorship and programme asset work area.

Team Skills

  • To ensure that all events are original, effective and produced to the highest possible standards.
  • To embrace risk taking, innovation and working to tight deadlines.
  • To ensure output is high quality, on brand, meets objectives and conforms to the brief's requirements.
  • A thorough understanding of Sky's brand guidelines.
  • To work closely with the Sky Creative support functions in Production & Operations and Campaign Management.
  • To work with other internal teams to generate ideas and concepts for internal & external events and proposals.
  • Practice outstanding quality control over concepts and projects
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of channel identities and how to translate them into the events required for these channels.
  • To deliver great event ideas that go above and beyond the brief and are accurately budgeted.
  • To act as a champion for the BSkyB values.
  • Must have experience working in a 360 environment across all platforms.

Creativity

To have experience in interpreting event brief and being able to find creative proposals and solution to enhance the event.

Production Skills

  • Have a proven track record in creating and managing events from start to finish that are both consumer facing, internal or business to business
  • Have a proven track record in creating and managing events from start to finish that are both consumer facing, internal or business to business
  • Have experience in working in a media environment with a TV and multi-platform company.
  • Have general technical understanding of VT, formats and post.
  • Experience in scheduling and forecasting.
  • Ability to pull together external and external resources where necessary to complete projects.
