Arqiva is a communications infrastructure and media services company spearheading the provision of network solutions and services. We provide much of the infrastructure behind television, radio, satellite and wireless communications, both in the UK and globally. Customers include world-renowned major broadcasters and telco providers.
Reporting to the Director of Technical Sales Support, as the Radio Technical Sales Support Team Leader you’ll lead the Radio Technical Sales Support function, co-ordinating technical pre sales work for Radio business as usual opportunities. This will involve working closely with Arqiva’s Radio Business Unit and its’ customers to provide technical support and deliver cost effective design and costings to meet our Radio Customers requirements. You will also lead a small technical support team dedicated to supporting the Radio business unit. Other key responsibilities for the Technical Sales Support Team Leader will include:
• Definition of standard designs to reduce the design and costing cycle and deliver operational efficiency
• pre sales lead design authority for sign-off of business as usual radio solutions
• review of delivered solutions to identify efficiencies and ensure continuous improvement.
The successful Technical Sales Support Team Leader must have extensive up-to-date knowledge and experience of Radio systems and technologies currently employed in the radio industry, preferably supported by a professional qualification (ideally IET Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer or equivalent). Self-driven and able to manage and motivate a technical team, with a strong focus on delivering design and costings to demanding timescales, your broad technical knowledge will match a high degree of commercial awareness within pre sales system design. You’ll also need:
• excellent technical report-writing, analytical and all-round communication skills
• the ability to grasp new technical concepts and technologies rapidly and adapt them to commercial system design
• experience of pre-sales support.
Knowledge and experience of FM, Long Wave, Medium wave, digital radio and associated connectivity and radio systems is key. Previous experience of working for UK radio licence holders would be an advantage. A working knowledge of TV, satellite and media would be useful.
