Broadcasting Operations Manager
The Broadcasting Office generates and distributes audio-visual output from the Scottish Parliament's chamber and committees, and webcasts all parliamentary proceedings. It also provides the Parliament with its sound and electronic-voting system and produces a range of visual material, much of it packaged to promote and explain the work of the Parliament.
This multi-skilled post oversees the technical operation of the office, providing presentation and delivery advice and operating technical aspects of the televisual service if required. You will also provide specialist advice and expertise in event production. You will have day to day line management of the technical operations team and responsibility for the delivery of engineering support and line management of one broadcast engineer.
You will need:
-significant relevant experience in a broadcast operational environment covering live TV operations, camera/vision control, lighting control, operation and adjustment of the full range of broadcast equipment and broadcast system standards
-a higher education qualification or degree in electronic engineering or engineering field or similar technical area
-knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and experience of managing contracts and contractors
-excellent staff management and teamworking skills
-the ability to plan and organise your own work and that of your team
