New Business Executive
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The general purpose of the role will be to help the Head of Commercial Development to deliver incremental revenues to Channel 5 through New Business activities, and maximise revenue opportunities within the remit of the department.
The New Business Executive will be a key commercial role in the C5 Commercial Development team. It will be their role to drive the maximum revenues from C5’s content and brands.
They will be expected to negotiate new deals as well as manage key accounts to maximise revenues by building business-to-business relationships and managing and enhancing C5’s direct-to-consumer proposition.
The person is expected to investigate market opportunities and make internal recommendations to the Director of Digital Media and Head of Commercial Development.
They would be expected to work closely with a number of departments and individuals across the C5 business e.g. Digital, Finance, Legal and Marketing. The role will report into the Head of Commercial Development and who will regularly review opportunities and deals being progressed.
The core objective of this role is to drive commercial performance/revenues via:
New Revenue stream ideas and business planning
Present the necessary financial / market analysis to support any business cases
Account Management of SkyMedia for sponsorship deals
Identifying new Licensing opportunities and partners
Working with Licensing and creative agencies on our brand extensions
Identifying new experiential opportunities internally and externally
Skills and Experience required:
Experience and knowledge of the television production process necessary
Experience in any combination of the following: Licensing, Brand Exploitation, Live Events and general Broadcast ancillary revenue stream development.
Must previously have had responsibility for delivering revenue targets
The ability to quickly develop credible relationships with a variety of contacts both internally and externally to Channel 5
Working knowledge of Ofcom Broadcasting Code and BCAP regulations
Effective negotiating and management skills
Resilience and stamina sufficient to sustain performance when under pressure to tight deadlines
Ability to sell ideas in a persuasive and convincing manner and experience presenting pitches / concepts to clients
Excellent communication, organisational and presentation skills
The ability to work on multiple projects at any one time
The ability to analyse data, strong analytical & numeracy skills
