As Broadcast Systems Engineer, reporting to the Shift Leader – Feltham Multiplexing Centre and working within a 24/7 team, your key responsibility will be for the management of the commercial freeview compression systems, associated contribution and ancillary systems. You’ll also act as the main technical point of contact for customers on any of the commercial freeview multiplexes. So the role will involve:

• end-to-end management of a range of compression platforms, in addition to supporting the Ericsson multiplexes and ancillary equipment
• fault resolution
• Continual Service Improvement within the Feltham baseband team.
• delivery of new installations and engineering projects.

The Broadcast Systems Engineer role will also involve some customer, supplier and third party liaison.

Preferably with a degree or HND in Electrical/Electronic/Communication/Computer Science/Broadcast Engineering, or with extensive experience and knowledge in a similar field, you’ll have a real grasp of the broadcast technology. Strong on teamwork and interpersonal skills, you’ll have the ability to work at, and switch between, differing conceptual layers to work within a complex system which is not fully bounded. Must-have skills and experience will include:

• proficiency in Windows applications
• TCP/IP Networking skills
• MPEG/DVB systems knowledge
• Broadcast engineering skills
• Video (SDI/HDSDI), AES Audio and Teletext (VBI/MHEG).
