Department Overview:
Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) is the London-headquartered division of Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) acquired local production companies (opcos) in major territories around the world (outside the US), to produce local versions of IP/formats either owned by WBTVG, developed or acquired by WBITVP, or created locally.

WBITVP is responsible for managing the flow of television formats within the WBITVP group of companies and the distribution of both WBITVP Group-developed and third-party acquired television formats and local programming.  The London office for WBITVP is responsible for each of the television format markets worldwide including Europe, Asia and Latin America

WBITVP distributes television formats including non-scripted formats of all genres (including reality, factual, factual-entertainment, studio-based entertainment and game-shows) and scripted formats of key genres including, comedy, sitcoms and drama.  Key non-scripted brands include Little Big Shots, First Dates, Who Do You Think You Are?, The Bachelor, together with scripted brands such as Gossip Girl, Cold Case and ER.

Primary Purpose of the Job:

To provide expertise in the international production of our non-scripted shows and work with WB owned and 3rd party producers to ensure the format adaptations are produced to the highest standard.
Consult on local production activity of WB non scripted formats, ensuring that all versions of WB owned and controlled formats, are produced in line with WB expectations to maximize the likelihood of re-commissions within each territory and to grow the format’s international brand and standing
To manage our approval and consultation rights on local productions. An understanding of local culture is essential to interpret and help to adapt all formats where necessary

Essential Job Functions:

  • To oversee local versions of WB non scripted formats
  • Supervise progress and consult on non-scripted formats in production.
  • First point of contact for all producers in regards to questions about the execution of a format
  • Ensure producers have all relevant support materials (bibles, budgets, schedules etc.)
  • Manage all approvals including; Casting, schedules, production structure, locations, sets, adaptations and to refer back to Director of International Production where appropriate


Selection Criteria

Relevant Previous Work Experience

  • Proven international media industry experience with a multi territory international TV production group is preferred.
  • Previous UK TV production experience at management level

Skills Required

  • Strong communication skills in order to build relationships with key creative teams on productions including Executive Producers, Producers, Heads of Production etc.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels, internally and externally
  • Proven Production Skills including, international TV production expertise and experience in non-scripted formats, UK production experience of non-scripted formats, post production.
  • Strong creative skills including; proven ability to recognise the strengths and weaknesses of creative materials, knowledge of formats and productions in line with WB IP and integrity, creative & aesthetics approval experience and overall production design approval knowledge.
  • The ability to remain calm in high pressure environment.
  • Must have the ability to organize and schedule work effectively.
  • Must have the ability to work well under time constraints.
