Why this role matters
The key focus is the day to day scheduling of editorial changes on the BT Player across multiple platforms using in house tools and supporting the coordination, organisation and implementation of system wide editorial priorities and promotional assets agreed by the Senior Editorial team to deliver across key agreed business KPI’s for next gen (awareness, viewing, active base, EST weekly transactions etc) across all key BTTV content genres.
What you’ll be doing
This role will sit alongside the current scheduling teams, scheduling changes and enhancements in the HTML5 player across various platforms. Responsibilites include:
Content and Editorial - Work alongside existing scheduling teams and the Editorial Manager to identify their key content priorities and promotional opportunities, liasing across the team in an organisational capacity to implement and manage key promo carousels, stunts and events and revenue driving opportunities.
Assist the Editorial Manager in tracking performance of month on month editorial strategy against agreed Next Gen KPI’s, working with scheduling teams to identify ongoing optimisation strategies to improve performance.
In addition, this role will be tasked to work across scheduling teams to proactively devise and test new navigation and editorial strategies in Navman (our in house tool), to identify which configurations can deliver uplifts in viewing and purchasing across the key content genres, to be reviewed and approved by senior management team.
Operational and Product coordination - Point person in content scheduling team for key HTML5 player enhancements and day to day interface with Operations team and Product Teams. Provide day to day implementation associated with roll out of next gen services, inputting into requirements and consulting through to launch, plus assessing ongoing impact on team
Work closely with Nav Man product manager to feed enhancements and optimize the Nav Man system. Work closely with development teams to coordinate and support roll out of various enhancements and product road map. Work with and coordinate with BT off shore teams various out of office support and sitemap delivery
Marketing/Promotional Support – Assist the Editorial Manager in working with the content communication team and consumer marketing to maximise the exposure of BTTV content and promotional opportunities to our subscriber base, and assist in identifying key promotional campaign opportunities. Work closely with the BTTV creative onair team to ensure monthly promotional highlights and messaging is aligned to wider business strategies and optimised to maximise efficiency and impact with increased promotional opportunities available within Next Gen platform.
Relationship Management – The post holder will need to align and cooperate closely with the BTTV scheduling teams utilising their knowledge of their genres and service to assist in the development of a comprehensive system wide overarching editorial framework.
We’ll also need to see these on your CV:
- Demonstrable experience managing and scheduling market leading multi genre VOD and non-linear TV platforms in a similar media environment essential
- Will command respect internally and externally for your understanding of the industry, the opportunity and the creative process
- Proven experience in generating market leading promotional and scheduling strategies to drive growth in viewing, engagement and revenues across multi genre content. A good understanding of windowing of content and rights management.
- Strong analytical skills. Understanding of BARB and non-linear data systems essential, and capability to produce performance and ratings reports
- Good presentation, negotiation and Influencing skills.
- Good knowledge of all relevant compliance codes and policy - BBFC, OFCOM, ATVOD
- Passion for TV and movie genres, VOD and non-linear business developments and landscape and, able to articulate a vision for developing media consumption habits and trends.
