Our client, a global leader in digital solutions has a requirement for developers to join their team. Good knowledge of the broadcast/media environment is essential.

Key skills will include:

Software Development:

Essential

  • Experience of real time event driven programming
  • Experience of development using C++ and/or C# and .net
  • Familiar with use of version control systems e.g. bitbucket, SVN
  • Able to work autonomously to a given brief
  • Good understanding of communication standards and protocols (Serial, TCPIP, SNMP, XML)

Desirable

  • Understanding of database and web development technologies
  • knowledge of XML, JSON
  • Knowledge of configuration management 
  • Experience of GUI development
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment, and the use of associated tools, e.g. Confluence, JIRA
  • Ability to capture user requirements
  • Familiar with resilient architectures and clustering techniques

General requirements:

Essential

  • Knowledge of one of the following:-
  • broadcast control and monitoring platforms (BNCS, Data Miner, VSM etc) (most ideal)
  • Industrial control systems e.g. SCADA (less ideal but realistic)
  • Industrial IoT (least ideal but workable)
  • Ability to work as part a team across multiple geographic locations (offshore but may include travel to Europe for customer deployments if need be)
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Ability to write detailed documentation

Desirable

  • Experience with Broadcast (ideal) or Telco Technology
  • Able to utilise MS excel and databases to create and generate datamodels
  • Knowledge of IT networking technologies (routers/switches, routing tables, addressing models, cloud, virtualisation)
