Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Serve as creative producer for all audio and video elements and components for the organization, managing the production and creative processes for projects including but not limited to: communications, curatorial, education and other organizational outputs. PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: Lead creative process and execution for all audio and video storytelling focused on Hall of Famers, the Museum and its collection, and associated events and activities. Create, execute, edit and deliver production of original content for organizational channels, including but not limited to: social media content, podcasts, television and radio advertising, public service announcements, video news releases and projects for education and curatorial needs. Manage the fulfillment of multimedia production content for the Hall of Fame's outreach and programs through various social media channels, digital online delivery outlets, broadcast partners, major and minor league baseball teams, news organizations and other outlets as necessary. Serve as videographer for the organization's multimedia production for all Hall of Fame events, interviews and video productions. Produce and write scripts and conduct interviews for multimedia projects. Serve as producer for various Museum projects in partnership with curatorial team. SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS: Edit video assets as captured for archival purposes while streamlining total amount footage. Work with departments across the organization to evaluate original audio/video needs. Responsible for life-cycle analysis of production components for organization-wide multimedia, including but not limited to, all video, audio and lighting equipment. When needed, work with Recorded Media Manager to execute organizational needs. Assist in support of video board operation at broadcast partner live events in Cooperstown. Seek out and manage freelance multimedia staff for event coverage when authorized. All other duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION BA in Mass Communication or related/equivalent field required; Demonstrated knowledge of video equipment and production (certificates of completion of varied related workshops or seminars, etc.). EXPERIENCE 1-3 years in related audio/video production and audio/video management preferred. ABILITIES Exceptional storytelling skills and creative disposition. Passion for baseball and its history. Video editing software and overall knowledge of audio/video equipment. Ability to manage many tasks concurrently. Excellent interpersonal relationships and good problem solving capabilities. Strong organization skills. Must be willing to work varied hours, evenings and weekends. Works independently but also willing to take direction. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to lift 40 lbs. Occasional work on a ladder. PC and superior knowledge of A/V equipment. TYPICAL EQUIPMENT USED: Mac and/or PC editing for audio and video output. Equipment ranging from video cameras to handhelds to professional quality dubbing devices. Ability to track and adapt to changing technologies for production.
