We’re looking for a driven and passionate Engineering Manager with a background in outside/live TV broadcast to manage and lead our TV Engineering Department – the team responsible for providing and supporting F1’s entire broadcast infrastructure.
From trackside cameras and microphones, international broadcaster distribution and transmission systems to post production editing facilities – this department are front line and make it happen.
Reporting to our Technical Director, you will have great people management skills to enable you to effectively manage and coach around 40 engineers and operational staff to ensure F1’s organisational and operational obligations are aligned and delivered in accordance with our customer and commercial expectations.
You will be based in our Media and Technology Centre in Biggin Hill – where the magic happens away from the F1 event and staff come together to get the job done. You will also travel to a number of events throughout the season for around a week at a time and work outside of your normal core hours.
ABOUT YOU - You are currently managing a team of engineers and looking for your next step in management, or you are a department manager looking for a new challenge.
Applicants must have proven experience of managing a large and diverse team for a minimum of 5 years.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
Proven track record in the management, supervision and leadership of a large and diverse team of broadcast engineering and operational technical staff. Extensive experience in all aspects of broadcast television engineering operations. Proven ability to deliver complex technical projects within given timescales and to budget.
