ITV’s famous soaps are recruiting for Support Engineers to provide operational and technical support for all aspects of Production, from script through to delivery. The successful person will have extensive technical knowledge of both studios and post production. We would also consider graduates or applicants with limited experience in a similar technical industry with an aptitude and desire for learning.
As our Support Engineer we will look to you to work closely with our Technical Managers and Senior Support Engineers monitoring our technical workflow whilst identifying technical problems and providing solutions.
You will be first and second line Systems/Electronic Maintenance for all departments and carry out scheduled maintenance with concise record keeping. You will participate in the innovation and development of current and future technologies. The operational vision engineer will primarily be responsible for recording media, providing image quality control and technical review.
Multiskilling is an important element of the role and you will need the ability to switch between operational and support roles.
Our Support Engineers will have strong IT skills including networking broadcast equipment, be a great team player and have the ability to deal with a wide range of people internally and externally. You must possess excellent health and safety knowledge, logical reasoning, attention to detail and have the proven ability to accept change and problem solve. A degree/HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic engineering or a similar discipline is desirable.
This role will include travel, long or unusual hours of work and cover for others at short notice. The role will have a variable shift pattern to provide Technical Support and Operational cover for all Production hours.
